Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Voeli ("we", "us", "our"), a tone-aware English ↔ Vietnamese chat translator. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Voeli.

1. Beta service

Voeli is currently in beta. That means:

• Features may change, break, or disappear without notice.
• The service may be unavailable, slow, or behave unexpectedly at times.
• We may pause or shut down the service entirely. If we do, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export any data you'd like to keep.
• Translations may be inaccurate. Voeli is meant to help you communicate across a language barrier, not to replace careful judgment.

2. Your account

You're responsible for:

• Keeping your sign-in credentials private.
• What happens under your account.
• Providing accurate information when you sign up (a real email you can access).

You must be at least 13 years old to use Voeli. If you're under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use Voeli to:

• Harass, threaten, or harm anyone — including the person on the other end of the conversation.
• Send unlawful, fraudulent, hateful, sexually explicit material involving minors, or otherwise illegal content.
• Translate confidential material you don't have the right to share with a third party (Voeli forwards messages to OpenAI for translation — your messages briefly leave your device).
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass our quotas, rate limits, or security measures.
• Build a competing translation service using our infrastructure.

4. Not professional advice

Translations from Voeli are not a substitute for professional translation, legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, or any other expert service. Don't make important decisions based solely on what Voeli produces. Tone-aware machine translation is helpful but it makes mistakes.

5. Daily usage limits

Each account has daily limits on how many translations, voice notes, and grammar checks it can request. These limits exist to keep the service free for everyone. We may adjust them up or down as needed. Hitting a limit means you'll get a "daily quota reached" message — try again tomorrow.

6. Content you send

You retain ownership of anything you type, speak, or send through Voeli. By using the service you grant us a limited license to process your messages for the purpose of providing the translation — which means forwarding them to our translation provider (currently OpenAI) and returning the result to you. We don't claim any other rights and we don't store the content of your messages on our servers (see the Privacy Policy for details).

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you:

• Violate these terms.
• Use the service in a way that harms other users, us, or third parties.
• Repeatedly abuse the system to bypass limits or security controls.

You can terminate your own account at any time by emailing voeliinc@gmail.com.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Voeli is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that translations will be accurate or fit for any particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voeli and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, miscommunication, or business interruption — arising out of your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (which, during beta, is zero).

10. Third-party services

Voeli relies on third-party providers (Firebase, Cloudflare, OpenAI, Sentry — see the Privacy Policy). When you use Voeli you are also indirectly using those services and may be subject to their respective terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top and, if you have an account, notify you by email before the change takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
